Women's Soccer Announces Changes To 2008 Schedule

July 30, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team has made two changes to its 2008 schedule, announced head coach Paul Harbin. The Blazers have changed the date and location of one game, while cancelling another contest.

UAB's exhibition game, originally scheduled for Aug. 16 against Mexico's U17 National Team, has been changed. The Blazers will now face Mexico's U20 National Team on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. in Decatur, Ala. at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex.

Also, due to new NCAA legislation on the number of total games a team can play in a season, UAB has cancelled its Sept. 19 contest at Belmont.

The Blazers' first competition of the 2008 season will be the exhibition game against the Mexico U20 National Team on Aug. 17. UAB's first regular-season game will be at Clemson on Aug. 22, while the home opener for the Blazers will be versus South Florida on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.
